SLC 2008 with the Petroffs

We had such a fun BBQ at Buelas house with our friends the Petroffs. It was so easy since Buela was out of town! All we needed was her house and her yard! Oh, and the Barbecue too.

Lola had fun with Oscar and Oliver. Oli loved swiping her Binky.

This was so funny! Dax was trying to read them a Thomas the Train book, and Oscar kept reaching over and over to wack him in the head with a wipie box! Dax just said "No baby!" But, he kept doing it until Dax unleashed to monster inside!

Me and My BFF Lindsay Jager Petroff! Linz and Lola.

Lilly and Cyndell. Jager and Lilly enjoying a ride with Dax.

Loving to snuggle Lola!

Lilly sneaks a kiss to Joey as Dax looks on! Mommy holding the twins! Ahh! Their heavy!

Lindsay's husband Roscoe sharing some Popsicles with the kids. And another attempt from the Binky thief!

A few tries at the group shot with the kids.

Joey's first day at Kindergarten!

Preferred 1st day breakfast: French Toast with sprinkles.

Mommy had to say her goodbyes. Might I say she dressed him quite handsomely!

Joey met up with his friend Tommy who he will see at recess every day!

Joey started his first day of Kindergarten at Canterbury Elementary School. His teachers name is Ms. Finnemore. And he assured mommy he would be just fine.

Salt Lake City, Summer 2008

As soon as we drove into Salt Lake we went straight to Abuelas house. She and Grandpa Gary were in Egypt and Jordan at the time, so we had the house to ourselves! Tio Jeff was there and so was Tio Scott! (both single by the way ladies!!) We had to say our quick hello and goodbyes to Tio Scott though, he had to head back to Atlanta early the next morning.

Both Tio's couldn't get enough of their newest niece!

Joey sure missed his Tio. So did a tired Dax.

We had a late night visit from our cousins from left Tiana, Emma, Mikie, (Joey), and Alison Powell. It was like we never left!

The next day we hit up what Salt Lake is now famous for in our family, indoor playgrounds at Mc Donalds! We don't have them here in Cleveland. And that is probably a VERY good thing.

MFV 2008 South Dakota

CRAZY HORSE MONUMENT

As we drove up to the Crazy Horse monument it was an awesome site to see. The info. center and museum paid tribute to all the many tribes of Native Americans in the Dakota areas. You can see how exhausted Joey got from all the excitement. The plan is to have a huge top half of a man riding a horse with his finger pointing out to the lands. The problem is they have to take out all of the rock that they don't want and move it out. They started in the 1970's and now have the profile of the face finished, the length of the pointing finger, and a proposed outline drawing of where the head of the horse will be. Maybe this link will explain more.

THE 1880's TRAIN

We got to board a real train in style with our new family vacation shirts lovingly made by Grandma Mirci. We weren't going to leave anyone behind!

Daddy and Lola board the train. And Grandma gets a squeeze from the train conductor!

Here's Joey's rear half and Dax at the wheel of a fun mini train. Choo Choo Aunt Shell!

The whole crew with a conductor, and without.

Dax was so funny after lunch . He had some hand sanitizer and didn't want to rub it in. So he walked around with his hand clasped together, and got teased by many. He looked straight down the whole time and pouted. It was so funny.

"Me no rub santizer"

MOUNT RUSHMORE

Joey practicing pyrotechnics in the info area. Mom and Dax standing under the Ohio flag. They had one spot and flag for all the states and territories.
The 4 handsome faces of Mt. Rushmore. And the backside of the Mirci's!

Joey making his souvenir pressed penny. "See Dax, It's easy!

CHUCK WAGON BBQ DINNERSHOW

Aunt Tristy got called up during the show to help play and instrument, and won a cool tin cup!

Daddy and Mommy as old westerners, and Dax as an unhappy Wayne.

Lola danced almost the whole time and had looked so cute in her matching romper!
